Role Description
- Lead and manage cross‑functional teams supporting Epic application domains, including strategy development, planning, testing, quality assurance, documentation, and user acceptance.
- Serve as the primary liaison for Epic application teams and third‑party partners accessing Epic tools outside the DPH Network.
- Collaborate with Workstream IT Managers and operational teams to assess workflow needs, design systems, and translate requirements into functional solutions.
- Facilitate integrated workgroups, ensure coordination between applications, and maintain implementation timelines and documentation.
- Support Epic access for all users across a complex technical environment spanning multiple institutions and a diverse suite of applications.
- Coordinate activities across SFDPH divisions, affiliate organizations, and external partners, focusing on Primary Care, Specialty Care, and Behavioral Health.
- Foster cross‑collaboration with internal SFDPH operational groups to ensure alignment and continuity of care.

Organize, direct, and supervise subordinate staff.Provide feedback and coach staff through professional development.Participate in goal, objective, policy, and procedure development.Ensure timely and efficient completion of activities.Assume significant responsibility for budget preparation and administration.Represent the department at meetings, coordinate training programs, and design, fund, and schedule external training.Develop, present, and maintain system and data processing applications, including hardware and software evaluation and procurement.Review and provide direction for system production activities; install new devices and software; perform complex system administration and support functions.How to Qualify
Minimum Qualifications
Epic CertificationSeven (7) years of experience in system administration, information systems development, maintenance and support, or information technology project management, including at least two (2) years of supervisory experience.Associate degree in computer science or a closely related field (or equivalent in total course credits / units) with a minimum of twenty (20) semester or thirty (30) quarter credits in computer science or a closely related field.Education requirements may be substituted with up to two (2) years of experience on a year‑for‑year basis.Desirable Qualifications
Specific Epic certifications : EpicCare Ambulatory, Clinical, ASAP, Orders, Willow, Optime / Anesthesia.Project management and process leadership experience.Strong communication skills.Proficiency with basic word processing and presentation applications.Knowledge of flow diagramming applications and collaboration platforms.Knowledge of Lean fundamentals (A3 thinking, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen events).Knowledge of HL7 integration and Microsoft SQL databases.Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, local, and private laws and regulations related to electronic health records.Experience managing large teams in a complex integrated environment.Contact
