Description :

Performs a variety of preparatory, scrubbing, and related services necessary to provide patient services in the operating room.

Assists with surgical cases in various specialty areas.

Helps with ancillary tasks as needed, including cleaning, managing supplies, and assisting in assembling instrumentation in sterile processing.

No call required, but may work holidays and no weekends.

Experience required in General, Robotics, Bariatrics, ENT, Plastics, Urology, GYN, and minor Vascular Surgery.

Must be able to perform Neuro surgery and orthopedics.

Mandatory skills include CST certification and BLS certification.

Floating may occur between main operating rooms.

Tech to patient ratios are 1 : 1.

Telemetry monitoring is available.

Scrub color is procedural.

No more than four days of requests for time off will be approved.

The facility is a Level II Trauma center with a Level III NICU and a Level III Maternity Center.

The number of operating rooms is 19, split between two locations.

Case types include General, Robotics, Bariatrics, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Neuro, Cardiac, Urology, ENT, Plastics, and Endovascular procedures.

Required licenses and certifications for RN include BLS.

For scrub techs, CST and BLS are required.

Anesthesia techs must have BLS certification.

Skills required for RNs include circulating, assisting with intubation / extubation, and patient positioning.

Robotics experience is essential, particularly with DaVinci XI.

Key areas of expertise for management consideration include ENT, Endovascular, Minor Vascular, and Robotics.

Scrub tech responsibilities include scrubbing and assisting with sterile processing and patient positioning.

Anesthesia tech tasks include room turnover, refilling gases, performing safety checks on equipment, and stocking.

Support on the unit includes a charge nurse available Monday through Friday.

Technology includes EMR, IV pumps, and medication dispensing systems.

Orientation consists of two shifts.

Scheduling may involve some weekend rotations.

No on-call shifts are required for RNs, scrub techs, or anesthesia techs.

Holiday expectations may apply.
