Welder Apprentice is responsible for performing repair and maintenance on containers and / or the vehicle fleet. This position is an entry-level position to our welding department.

Responsibilities of Position :

• Perform sanding, grinding, cutting, welding and other fabrication or repair work on company containers, compactors, and other equipment in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies
• Weld steel using Mig and Arc welding equipment
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Company and OSHA standards
• Complete required paperwork utilizing computer system
• Install lids and wheels on containers
• Perform paint repairs as needed
• Assist in other projects or areas of the shop as needed
• Communicate in a manner that promotes good relationships with internal / external customers, clients, co-workers, and management
• Perform other duties as assigned
