As a Medical Assistant, you'll work alongside our Life Changers to provide high-quality patient care. Build meaningful relationships with patients and create a safe, comforting environment.
Responsibilities :
Coordinate schedule and patient flow; escort patients to exam rooms
Gather patient history, take vitals, perform screenings and relay provider instructions.
Assist with mobility, dressing, specimen collection and exam prep.
Answer call, provide patient education and manage front office tasks.
Handle medical records per HIPPA and regulatory guideline; verify insurance and procedures.
Administer injections and vaccines under physician supervision.
Prepare and clean exam rooms and equipment; maintain inventory and infection control standards.
Comply with OSHA, CLIA, PA Dept. of Health, and UPMC policies; ensure confidentiality.
Retrieve lab / x-ray reports, hospital notes, referrals; complete forms and manage charts.
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Previous Pediatric experience preferred
Previous Out-Patient Experience preferred
Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances :
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Act 31 / Act 33 / Act 34 / Act 73 with renewal
