Job Title : Manufacturing Technician

Job Description

The Manufacturing Technician will be responsible for performing a range of manufacturing tasks related to reagents and buffers. The role involves troubleshooting formulations, filling processes, packaging, and conducting Quality Control procedures. You will work in a collaborative environment, supporting R&D and process improvement activities to meet production goals.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned manufacturing tasks for reagents and buffers as assigned by the Supervisor / Lead.
• Troubleshoot formulations, filling processes, packaging, and analytical techniques.
• Conduct Quality Control procedures for consumables.
• Perform data collection and analysis.
• Process work orders to complete products to inventory.
• Execute and improve batch records and SOPs.
• Identify gaps and weaknesses in SOPs and formulations for finished goods and component materials.
• Maintain accurate inventory of materials through cycle counts, ordering, and receipt of materials.
• Operate in a fast-paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities.
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with other scientists, engineers, and manufacturing personnel.
• Lead kit support and line operations.
• Perform simple buffer formulation under 50L.
• Provide fill support.
• Engage in other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

The work environment is within a multi-disciplinary startup focused on innovating genetic analysis tools for research and clinical markets. The role requires training in a second shift (2pm - 10 : 30pm), with potential work in staggered second shift (6pm - 2 : 30am) and eventually third shift (10pm - 6 : 30am). Shift differentials apply : 1st shift (6AM-2 : 30PM) offers regular hourly pay, 2nd shift offers a 5% differential, staggered 2nd shift offers a 7.5% differential. The work environment is dynamic, supporting R&D development and daily needs requests.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00 / hr.
