We are seeking a Behavioral Health Counselor to provide psychosocial interventions and therapeutic support to clients and families. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, facilitating individual and group interventions, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality care and client progress.
Key Responsibilities :
Conduct individual, family, and group counseling sessions within scope of practice
Assess clients’ needs, establish treatment goals, and monitor progress
Develop, implement, and evaluate intervention strategies to support client success
Provide education and guidance to clients and families regarding treatment and recovery
Document social histories, admission / aftercare summaries, court-related materials, and other required records in compliance with state, federal, and organizational standards
Participate in treatment teams, program development, training sessions, and court hearings
Coordinate referrals and follow-up services with community agencies and support providers
Evaluate cases managed by lower-level behavioral healthcare staff and provide feedback on progress and treatment effectiveness
Qualifications :
Must hold one of the following Ohio licenses :
Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II (LCDC II)
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
Licensed Social Worker (LSW)
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (MFT)
Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with either :
Master’s degree in psychology or related field
Master’s degree in nursing with a mental health / psychiatric concentration
Practice specialty certificate in Mental Health or Psychiatric Nursing
Strong knowledge of counseling techniques, client care, crisis intervention, and social work principles
Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work with sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality
Additional Requirements :
Completion of continuing professional education for license renewal as required by Ohio law
