Position Summary
Join Camp W Day Camp as an Art Teacher and inspire campers (7-10 years old ) to explore their creativity, build artistic skills, and have fun! In this role you'll lead art projects, teach a variety of media, and foster a positive and inclusive environment where campers feel safe to express themselves.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and lead daily art sessions (35 minutes long) and creative projects for campers (12-15 campers per group).
- Teach and assist with various art media (puppet making, canvas painting, drawing and more) adaptable to different skill levels.
- Ensure art area is safe, organized, and stocked with supplies.
- Collaborate with other camp staff and integrate art activities into the overall camp day.
- Supervise campers during art time and support their creative development and peer interactions.
- Help maintain a positive, inclusive and fun camp atmosphere, encouraging campers and celebrating their work.
Qualifications
Comfortable working with children, able to guide, inspire, and encourage creativity.Experience in one or more art media (drawing, painting, mixed-media, etc.).Strong communication skills, team-oriented and accountable.Reliable, responsible, and must be able to work the full session (June29 – August7) and able to commit to the hours of Monday to Friday, 10 : 30 am-5 : 00 pm.Prior experience teaching art, working with kids in a camp / educational setting is a plus.What We Offer
