About The Position

Description :

Unit has a total of 31 beds, including private and semi-private rooms.

Ratios of nurses to patients are 1 to 4.

Charge Nurse is the Shift Manager along with a Resource Nurse.

Nurse Aides are present, with 2 on days and 1 on nights.

Weekend requirement includes 4 shifts out of every 4-week schedule.

Weekend shifts for nights are Friday / Saturday and Saturday / Sunday for days.

Traveling staff are expected to work into the permanent staff holiday rotation schedule, including 1 major and 1 minor holiday.

Scrubs must be navy blue; if a scrub jacket is worn, it must also be navy.

Undershirts must be navy, white, or black.

Telemetry equipment includes Philips.

Nurses must be able to read and interpret all cardiac rhythms.

CPAP or BiPAP is available for respiratory therapy.

Hospitalists or intensivists are available in-house, with on-call coverage after hours.

Pharmacy services are available 24 / 7.

Shift hours are from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 30 AM.

Block scheduling is permitted if unit needs are met but not guaranteed.

Traveling staff are the first to float between units.

Possible floating includes Medical-Surgical areas and Intensive Care.

Common diagnoses include post pacemaker, hemodialysis patients, and new onset atrial fibrillation.

Stepdown patients from intensive care and various surgical, oncology, and urology cases are admitted.

Cancellation policy allows for shifts to be canceled, with specific conditions.

Charting system used is Cerner.
