Remote Role
Join a dynamic team that supports a mission-critical global satellite network! As a Cloud Solutions Engineer, you will collaborate with software developers, system engineers, and network specialists to build and maintain robust cloud infrastructure. Your role will focus on developing and managing GitOps infrastructure as code repositories specifically for OpenShift and Kubernetes deployments across cloud and on-premises environments.
Your primary responsibilities will include :
- Maintaining OpenShift clusters, ensuring a strong security posture, and applying updates to software and firmware.
- Updating GitOps repositories and conducting tests across development, staging, and integration environments when third-party software is refreshed.
- Documenting deployment strategies and procedures for updates in cloud and on-premises Kubernetes and OpenShift environments.
- Supporting developers and system engineers to optimize cloud and on-premises Kubernetes and OpenShift setups.
- Reviewing and implementing necessary remediation steps for new system and security requirements pertaining to cloud infrastructure.
This opportunity is a contract-to-hire position. Candidates must be willing to work on a W2 basis and transition to full-time employment after the contract period. Key Responsibilities
5+ years of experience as a cloud engineer, software engineer, or DevOps engineer.Proficient in developing, setting up, and managing cloud development and testing environments on platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.Hands-on experience with containerization tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.Familiarity with virtualization technologies and experience using tools like OpenStack and ESXi.Strong understanding of TCP / IP and network configurations.Ability to design, manage, and maintain network setups for cloud and containerized deployments, including IP subnetting, routing, and firewall configurations.Experience Criteria
Proficiency in managing and developing within OpenShift and Kubernetes environments.Experience working with GitOps infrastructure as code repositories.Basic understanding of satellite communication systems.Knowledge of Cyber Security practices, vulnerability scanning, and remediation within cloud environments.Ability to script and automate tasks using bash or Python.Educational Background
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.Capability to design and maintain on-premises private cloud and container environments.Willingness to travel up to 10%.Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance.Skills and experience will be considered in determining the pay rate. The posted pay range reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may lead to different pay structures.
