Description

Position Responsibilities :

Evaluating and appraising fully underwritten life insurance applications.

Reviewing and interpreting attending physician statements (APS), paramedical exams, lab results, and other medical evidence to assess risk.

Applying financial underwriting principles to evaluate insurable interest, income replacement, and other financial justification factors.

Classifying the mortality risk of an application according to the Company’s underwriting guidelines.

Collaborating with internal and external partners to ensure prompt and efficient service to our customers.

Participating in ongoing learning and technical development.

Requirements for Success :

Requires a minimum of 2 years of life underwriting experience.

Solid understanding of medical terminology and the impact of various health conditions and impairments on mortality risk.

Ability to apply underwriting concepts such as medical history, occupational hazards, financial information, and insurable interest when evaluating applications.

Ability to analyze medical records, paramedical exams, and lab results to make sound underwriting decisions.

Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain underwriting decisions to both internal teams and external partners.

Able to work independently, manage priorities, and maintain productivity in a high-volume environment while meeting service standards.Working towards or completion of FLMI, ALU Level Two Certificate, FALU.
