The ideal Candidate hired will be under general direction, performs skilled diagnostic repair and maintenance work on motor coaches, automobiles, and associated equipment; and performs related duties as required.

The Requirements
To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required. EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent and four (4) or more years of experience in vehicle maintenance and / or formalized training in the maintenance of light and heavy vehicles; and a high school diploma or general education degree (GED). Must have a Class B permit and endorsements prior to first day of work. Must be able to obtain a Class B license by the end of probationary period.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Positions in this job classification are considered safety-sensitive and subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing, under Federal Transit Administration (FTA) regulations. Must comply with all California Occupational Safety and Health Act (Cal-OSHA) regulations and utilize approved safety equipment and protective gear including but not limited to respirators and / or hearing protective devices (HPD), if and when required.
The Selection Process
An on-line application must be completely filled out to be considered. The selection process consists of an evaluation of education, experience. (A Class B license is not required to submit an employment application but a Class B permit or Class A or B License with passenger and air brake endorsement is required prior to the first day of employment) . Those that have applied and tested in the past 6 months will not be eligible to re-apply. The most competitively qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the selection process. The selection process may include a combination of written, performance, and oral examinations. Employment offers are contingent upon applicant demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodations. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background / criminal investigation (including Live Scan fingerprints), and DOT pre-employment physical examination with drug screening.
