Description

Position Summary : The Mechanical Apprentice will assist licensed tradesman with the installation or maintenance and inspection of mechanical systems and associated processes.

Role and Responsibilities :

• Regular attendance at assigned location that may include office or other project sites
• Work with materials that include caste iron, PVC, polypropylene, copper (solder and pro-press), stainless steel, carbon steel
• Measure, cut, thread or bend pipe to required angle using hand or power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines, or pipe-bending machines
• Locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes or fixtures in structures
• Assemble pipe sections, tubing or fittings using couplings, clamps, screws, bolds or soldering equipment
• Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances, or fixtures using hand or power tools
• Test pipes of fixtures for leaks using various methods
