Job Details : \n

  • Work 36 hours per week with multiple shift options available : 7a-7p, 7p-7a, 3p-3a, and 11a-11p

    • \n

  • Work every other weekend required

    • \n

  • Work 2 or 3 holidays per year (Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

    • \n

  • One 24-hour call shift every 4 weeks required

    • \n

  • 2 years of emergency department experience required

    • \n

  • Required certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS

    • \n

  • TNCC preferred

    • \n

  • Georgia or compact RN license required

    • \n

  • Recent level 1 or level 2 trauma experience required

    • \n

  • Must wear branded Navy Blue Cherokee scrubs purchased from campus store

    • \n

  • Complete one week preceptor-based ED specific orientation

    • \n

  • Assess and document patient findings in emergency room setting

    • \n

  • Perform triage using ESI, medication administration, IV starts, venipuncture, blood culture collection, urinary catheter insertions, EKG monitoring

    • \n

  • Treat patients with respiratory distress / failure, code blue, code strokes, code STEMI, traumas, and sepsis

    • \n

  • Work with Accudose medication dispensing, Cerner charting (FirstNet), Phillips monitors, ISTATS, and various medical equipment

    • \n

  • Handle nurse-to-patient ratios : 1 : 2 or 1 : 3 in critical care, 1 : 7 in Fast Track, 1 : 4 or 1 : 5 in acute areas

    • \n

  • May float to ED behavioral health, Pediatric ED, or ED observation when needed

    This major medical center operates a comprehensive 71-bed emergency department featuring specialized areas including critical care rooms, acute care units, fast track services, behavioral health bays, pediatric emergency services, and observation beds. The facility provides advanced emergency care with state-of-the-art equipment and technology, including computerized charting systems and specialized monitoring equipment. The emergency department handles complex trauma cases and maintains high standards for patient care with dedicated units for various patient populations and acuity levels.
