Base pay range
$160,000.00 / yr - $220,000.00 / yr
Lead Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Engineer to lead the development of the HIL system for a bleeding-edge Deep Tech company. This role involves full lifecycle ownership, from gathering requirements and sourcing hardware to integrating HIL into software systems and commissioning.
The ideal candidate will bring deep experience with NI PXI platforms, real-time testing, and automated validation frameworks, along with a strong background in electrical integration and harness design.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain a hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test bench system
- Build and configure test hardware, including power supplies, actuators modeling, and sensor mapping
- Establish communication with Digital Twin systems and program required interfaces
- Manage schedule, budget, vendors, and assembly for harness and HIL systems
- Optimize validation processes and utilize robotics tools for automated testing
- Support test development for additional critical systems
- Develop and document test procedures and methodologies
- Troubleshoot electrical integration issues on test stands and project hardware
- Present design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Required Skills and Qualifications
BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related fieldExperience with HIL systems such as dSpace, NI PXI, Speedgoat, or similar platformsProficiency in NI HIL software (LabVIEW, TestStand) and scripting in Python, C++, or C#Hands-on data acquisition and test execution skillsElectrical debugging and root cause analysis expertiseStrong ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teamsDesired Skills and Qualifications
