Job descriptionProvide direct and indirect nursing care to adult and adolescent inpatients with psychiatric and substance use disorders. Participate actively as a member of the healthcare team, contributing to the development, implementation, and documentation of individualized treatment plans. Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment in accordance with organizational core principles. Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support patient-centered care. Float between units and take charge as needed (no additional pay for charge duties). Use critical thinking and crisis management skills to manage stressful situations and de-escalate crises. Apply trauma-informed and recovery-oriented nursing practices. Develop therapeutic relationships with patients while maintaining professional boundaries. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff, both verbally and in writing. Utilize electronic medical record systems for documentation and care coordination. Delegate, coach, and support team members to ensure high quality care delivery. Participate in ongoing staff training and adhere to safety, CPR, and restraint reduction protocols. Support MiraVista’s mission to provide compassionate and effective care for those with psychiatric and co-occurring substance use disorders. Current MA Registered Nurse license (required). Minimum one year of adult / adolescent inpatient psychiatric experience. CPR certification required. Experience in restraint reduction, de-escalation, and crisis intervention preferred. Willingness to work every other weekend / evening shifts and holidays, float between units, and take charge as needed. Strong critical thinking, time management, and teamwork skills.
