EPC Services Company (EPCS) has immediate openings for medium and high voltage senior level electrical field test engineers. Our Austin, TX office is looking to expand their team. The successful candidates will join a team that performs testing and maintenance on medium and high voltage systems. Travel is a significant part of the job. Preference will be given to candidates residing in / near Austin. A remote-work arrangement will be considered for the right candidate, based on their level of industry experience in testing and commissioning.

Test Engineer Duties :

Medium and high voltage apparatus testing and functional verification of control, protection, and alarm circuits.
Provide setting and testing protective relays.
Understand and interpret test results.
Read and understand technical documentation and users' manuals.
Familiarity with IEEE standards and ANSI / IEEE system device function numbers.
Knowledge of the latest version of NETA Acceptance Testing Specification (ATS) and NETA Maintenance Testing Specification (MTS).

Senior Test Engineer Requirements :

Thorough understanding of substation physical drawings, equipment wiring diagrams, and substation control schematics.

Demonstrate and explain aspects of substation protection philosophy, feeder protection, breaker failure protection, bus protection, power transformer protection, cap bank protection, and distance protection.

Minimum Requirements :

BSEE, BSME or BSEEET degree.

6-10 years' experience for Senior Test Engineer or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to obtain NICET Level III certification.

Strong understanding of safe work practices.

Excellent organizational skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Working knowledge of test equipment.

Ability to be insured to drive company vehicles.
