Position Summary

The Director of FP&A is a senior individual contributor who serves as a strategic finance partner to the CFO and executive leadership team. This role leads our financial planning and analysis function, translating complex data into clear insights and enabling high-impact decisions. You'll be instrumental in driving UpKeep's financial strategy, forecasting, and performance management as we scale.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Own the company-wide planning cycle, driving alignment between finance and business leaders on goals, headcount, and investments.
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders including GTM, RevOps, and Product to develop financial plans, track performance, and optimize investments.
  • Drive key financial initiatives such as pricing strategy, sales capacity planning, incentive design, and customer acquisition ROI analysis.
  • Design and maintain scalable financial models and scenario analyses to support business strategy, fundraising, and board-level decisions.
  • Develop and deliver dashboards and executive-level reporting that provide insight into SaaS metrics, KPI trends, and cash flow performance.
  • Oversee board and investor reporting, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company goals.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve FP&A systems, tools, and workflows to ensure efficiency, scalability, and repeatability.
  • Provide competitive benchmarking using SaaS industry data and translate findings into strategic recommendations.
  • Serve as a financial advisor to the CFO and executive team on M&A, fundraising, and long-term planning initiatives.
  • Partner with Accounting and RevOps to ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems (ERP, CRM, FP&A tools)
  • Partner with the CFO and cross-functional leaders on financial operations and special projects, driving process improvements or system integrations that enhance forecast accuracy, streamline reporting, and support strategic decision making across the business.
  • Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive FP&A experience in high-growth SaaS or venture-backed tech environments.
  • Proven ability to lead financial planning processes and build executive-level financial models.
  • Demonstrated success in partnering with GTM, Product, and RevOps teams to drive business strategy.
  • Experience supporting fundraising, board reporting, or M&A is a strong plus.
  • Knowledge

  • Deep understanding of SaaS financial metrics, business models, and benchmarks.
  • Highly proficient in advanced Excel or Google Sheets; familiarity with FP&A tools preferred.
  • Strong analytical and storytelling skillsthe ability to turn data into decisions.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with shifting priorities.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, capable of distilling complex analyses into strategic insights for executive and board audiences with clarity and precision.

  • Compensation

    This role will receive a competitive base salary + annual bonus + benefits + equity. A variety of factors are considered when determining someone's compensationincluding a candidate's professional background, experience, and location. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed below.

    The pay range for this role is $175,000 - $195,000 USD per year.
