Key Responsibilities

  • Support GI / Hepatology practice
  • Assist NP during patient visits
  • Provide pre- and post-procedure education (e.g., colonoscopy, endoscopy)
  • Manage phone triage , in-basket tasks , med refills , and follow-up care
  • Perform pre-screening for GI procedures
  • General patient education on GI conditions and diets
  • Support medication orders and clinical documentation in EPIC

  • Adults & Geriatrics
  • Common diagnoses include :

    • IBD

  • IBS
  • Ulcerative Colitis
  • Diarrhea
  • GI procedure prep / follow-up

    • Ideal Candidate Background

  • Required :

    • 1 year of RN experience (clinic or acute)

  • BLS Certification
  • Experience with EPIC
  • Highly Preferred :

    • Outpatient Clinic or GI experience

  • Prior experience in :

    • MS / Tele

  • Day Surgery
  • Pre / Post-op
  • Endoscopy

    • Schedule

  • Shift : 8-hour day shifts (Mon–Fri)
  • Shift Hours : 08 : 00 – 17 : 00

    • Pap smears, dressing changes, suture removal

  • Medication Administration :

    • IM, SQ, PO, IV (basic), bronchodilators, antiemetics

  • Office Tasks :

    • Triage calls, appointment scheduling, pharmacy coordination, patient follow-up

  • Preferred GI Skills :

    • GI diet knowledge, understanding of GI disorders, nutrition support (training available)

  • First-Time Travelers : ✅ Accepted if they have GI experience
  • Orientation : Standard 1-week orientation (~40 hours)
  • Pre-approved PTO : 1 request per contract
