Responsibilities Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting High-risk perinatal center handling antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn patients Approximately 150 complex, high-acuity births per month Two dedicated operating rooms on unit for C-sections and related procedures Patient ratios are 1 : 1 Schedule options include day shifts at 3x12 or 4x12 hours; weekend shifts required Floating within the hospital is required, but not to sister hospitals Uses Epic EMR; previous Epic experience preferred but not required Responsibilities include managing high-risk labor and delivery, assisting in surgical births, and caring for both mothers and newborns in a Level 3 Perinatal and Level 4 NICU environment Second RN acts as 'baby catcher' for non-compromised infants Scrubs of any color acceptable; facility provides scrubs for OR personnel First-time travelers are accepted Holiday time off is restricted to 1 of the 3 major holidays with a maximum of 3 additional non-holiday days off; blocked RTO around peak holiday dates is not allowed Strong preference for availability to work Christmas Orientation consists of two sessions per month, with 5-6 hours of required modules and an Epic-specific orientation module No call requirements Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers Requirements Active WA or compact RN license or proof of pending license Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery RN experience required; 3 years preferred Current BLS and NRP certifications required Experience in teaching or trauma hospitals is preferred COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions Two professional references required, at least one must be supervisory Prior staff must be separated from the facility for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler Must be able to complete all required modules prior to start Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-628954.
