Program Structure Rotational Development The program provides broad exposure to all aspects of VareCo’s construction and development operations. Preconstruction & Estimating – blueprint reading, quantity takeoffs, subcontractor bid analysis, and cost estimating. Project Engineering & Coordination – RFIs, submittals, scheduling, procurement, and quality control. Field Management – jobsite oversight, safety compliance, subcontractor management, and progress reporting. Project Controls & Financial Tracking – forecasting, budget tracking, cost reporting, and software implementation. Preparing takeoffs and estimates for upcoming construction projects. Assisting in the preparation of bid packages and evaluating subcontractor proposals. Managing RFIs, submittals, and construction documentation. Tracking job costs, forecasting budgets, and reporting on progress. Supporting field operations with scheduling, materials procurement, and coordination. Working with the construction leadership team to identify process improvements. Mentorship & Development Trainees are mentored by project managers and superintendents, gaining exposure to leadership decision-making and hands-on field management. Each rotation builds technical and management competencies, preparing participants for advancement into a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager role. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering or Construction Management (engineering preferred). Experience in a construction internship or entry-level field / office role required. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and drawings. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and construction management tools (Procore, InEight, or equivalent). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated leadership potential, organization, and problem-solving ability.
