Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient

Ideal candidate will be national certified with previous pharmacy experience. Full-time Monday-Friday 6 : 00am-2 : 30pm. 2000 sign-on bonus.

The Inpatient Pharmacy at Missouri Baptist Medical Center consists of a Central Pharmacy including a Class 10000 Clean Room for sterile product preparation and satellite pharmacies in the Operating Room, the Cancer / Infusion Center, and satellites or decentralized pharmacists on several inpatient floors. The hospital uses Pyxis Connect digital order imaging, medication bar coding, an electronic medication administration record, and Alaris Guardrails 'smart' IV pumps. The department utilizes Pyxis medstations for distribution of 90% of medication. The Pharmacy program at MoBap also administers an ASHP-accredited pharmacy practice residency program.
Role Purpose
The Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient 3 under the direct supervision of a staff pharmacist and according to standard procedures provides cross coverage for multiple technician competencies or responsibilities within a focus area. This position serves as a department resource to answer questions and assists in resolving more complex issues. This position's responsibilities may include preparing medication orders, assisting in dispensing and transporting medications, conducting complex sterile and / or non-sterile compounding, inventory management, training the use of various automated / electronic systems, and maintaining the required documentation & records.
Responsibilities
Maintains quality assurance standards and required documentation, maintains regulatory cleanliness compliance. Assists in the preparation of medication orders to include workflow management, basic preparation & dispensing, and non-sterile compounding. Supports various inventory activities to include inventory storage, ordering, rotating beyond use dating, and cleanliness. Assumes primary responsibility for a specific task function or area of specialty to include training system maintenance, inventory management, workflow process improvement, as well as use of electronic / automated systems. Pursues proficiency in the preparation of complex sterile compounds, seeks out other advanced skills and / or additional responsibilities.
Minimum Requirements
Education : High School Diploma or GED
Experience : 2-5 years
Supervisor Experience : No Experience
Licenses & Certifications : State Bd Pharm Registration, Pharmacy Tech Certification
Preferred Requirements
Experience : 5-10 years
