Overview
Air Vehicle System Test Conductor (Various Int'l Locations) – Northrop Grumman. This role is within the Aeronautics Systems Test and Evaluation organization and involves embedding with a US Navy unit as the system subject matter expert, providing training on hardware and software, and supporting system operations, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance. Deployment to international locations will be determined by business needs after initial domestic training.
Responsibilities
- Interfacing with NGCS and customer Flight Engineers, aircraft maintenance Technicians, US Navy service members, and Subsystem SMEs to sustain operations.
- Primary interface between maintenance, design and flight test engineering.
- Vehicle and Payload Test Controller (VTC / PTC) operations during startup / shut down for launch and recovery, conduct static ground tests, and troubleshooting.
Essential Functions
Provide inputs to update Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMS).Review and provide inputs during engineering development and execute Detailed Test Requirements, Acceptance Test Procedures, and Ground Test Plans.Install, operate, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and modify equipment in accordance with IETMS and engineering directives (TDs / ECRs / TEIs / AMRs / MAFs).Perform Organizational / Depot-level maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and / or field locations.Develop general knowledge of aircraft systems, VTC / PTC, Engineering Design and software; perform field integration, troubleshooting, and repair of air vehicle systems at customer locations including flightline or hangar environments.Interpret and trace electrical and Air Vehicle schematics; perform electrical and RF troubleshooting with equipment such as Multimeter, Network / Spectrum Analyzer, Oscilloscope, TDR, etc.Review and analyze engineering schematics, supplier design data, and support functional test requirements including acceptance, qualification, and system integration on the Air Vehicle.Basic Qualifications
Test conductor must have 6 years of related professional / military experience OR a Bachelor's degree with 2 years of related experience OR a Master's degree with 0 years of related experience.Willingness to complete required training in Pax River, MD and Rancho Bernardo, CA.Willingness and ability to support an international assignment in Japan, Italy, United Arab Emirates, or Guam for a minimum of 24 months; location determined by the company based on business needs.Willingness to relocate to a core U.S. location if necessary.Ability to pass a new hire physical if required by the Company based on location selected.Must have a DoD Secret clearance in-scope or enrolled in CE, with the ability to obtain Top-Secret / SCI clearance within a reasonable time.Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable time for business needs.Experience with Aircraft Ground Test Operations.Ability to travel and support customer needs, management reviews, and demonstrate leadership as a technical expert on trips worldwide.Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and effective communication with leadership.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to brief test results to senior leadership.Preferred Qualifications
Ability to support a new or extended assignment at an international or Guam location after initial 24-month assignment.Active DoD Top Secret clearance in-scope or enrolled in CE.Unmanned Aircraft Vehicle (UAV) test or maintenance experience; MQ-4 Vehicle Test Controller or Triton BETTIE operator experience preferred.Aircraft Test or Lab Test experience; experience with equipment to test and troubleshoot aircraft systems.Experience loading data and configuration files to aircraft assemblies.Salary and Benefits
Primary Level Salary Range : $73,900.00 - $110,900.00. The salary range is a guideline; actual offers are based on scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Benefits may include overtime eligibility, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, holidays and PTO.
