Title : Mechanical Superintendent

Location : Southern Arizona

Reports To : Director of Operations & Project Manager

Supervises : All Field Labor – General Foremen, Foremen, Journeymen, Installers, Apprentices

Collaborates With : Project Managers, Shop Foremen, Safety Officers, Clients, Subcontractors

Position Summary :

The Mechanical Superintendent is a key leadership position responsible for managing field operations and ensuring the successful execution of commercial mechanical projects. This role involves leading field crews, coordinating with project management, and maintaining high standards in safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. The Superintendent is expected to actively engage in Lean Construction and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) practices, while driving project profitability and team performance.

Key Responsibilities :

Project & Field Leadership

• Supervise all field activities for mechanical / HVAC / Sheet metal installations across assigned projects.
• Lead daily operations including planning, scheduling, material control, and equipment logistics.
• Conduct site surveys and material / duct takeoffs to support project execution.
• Coordinate with shop foremen for production scheduling and driver logistics.
• Ensure jobs are properly staffed, sequenced, and detailed to APS standards.
• Oversee equipment startup and coordinate with contractors, engineers, and owners.

Required Qualifications :

Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical documents.
