The Baldwin School is seeking to hire part-time qualified candidates for our after-school program. Extended Day Program Teachers will work directly with students in an after-school setting, leading small groups in the area of arts, sports, academics, and mentorship. The hours for the position are Monday to Friday, 2pm to 6pm.
Responsibilities :
- Plan and implement the daily after-school program with appropriate developmental experiences for a group of children from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 5.
- Use a wide range of teaching methods and activities (indoor or outdoor games, stories, art, homework supervision, etc) to engage children.
- Create and implement activities, workshops and events for students based on their interests and with their involvement.
- Arrange and maintain a physical environment conducive to children's growth and development and optimal program functioning, including daily setup and cleanup.
- Assist the Manager of Auxiliary Programs with administrative tasks related to running the program.
- Interact professionally with all community members.
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
- Maintain the upkeep of supplies.in
- Perform other duties as assigned.

High School diploma or equivalentExcellent communication skills, both oral and writtenPatient, flexible, positive, consistent, dependable, and cooperative with a sense of humorPassion for working with childrenMust be able to engage and motivate studentsSufficient insight and judgment to handle crisis situationsAbility to take supervision and correction constructivelyPreferred Qualifications Include :
