Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Night Shift (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM)

Schedule : 3x12-hour shifts / week

Position Overview

Methodist University Hospital is seeking experienced Registered Nurses for the Neuro Critical Care Unit. Candidates must have 2 years of Neuro ICU experience with travel, or 3 years without travel experience. The hospital enforces strict residency restrictions, requiring candidates to live at least 100 miles away. This Level I Trauma Center is a large hospital setting with a strong focus on specialized critical care.

Certifications & Requirements

RN License : Active Tennessee RN license or compact license – Required

Experience : Minimum 2 years Neuro ICU experience (with travel) or 3 years (without travel)

Travel Experience : At least 1 completed travel assignment preferred

Education : ADN accepted; BSN required only for select positions (not Neuro ICU)

Certifications : BLS required (renewal plans must be included if expiring)

Charting System : Cerner preferred

Other Requirements :

Valid Driver’s License required with submission

Must reside more than 100 miles from facility (no locals accepted)

No pending licenses; must comply with NLC guidelines

RTO must be included at time of submission; no RTO approval after offer

Willingness to work 1-2 holidays if they fall during assignment

No direct contact with facility staff; all communication via recruiter

Separation of 1 year required for former employees before rehire eligibility

Floating between like units / campuses within 20 miles possible but rare

Skills & Competencies

Skilled in Neuro ICU patient care with critical neurological diagnoses

Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a critical care setting

Adaptability to schedule changes and floating as needed
