Job description

Title : Senior Database Administrator

Location : Hybrid, Mid-Atlantic or Central U.S. Region

Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8 : 00AM - 4 : 00PM

Description

We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator to support the development, maintenance, and performance of enterprise database environments. This role plays a critical part in building secure, high-performing data systems and delivering key data insights across the organization. The position involves overseeing database design, optimization, data warehouse development, and cross-functional collaboration for project success. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, leadership in data architecture, and experience working with diverse data platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support relational database environments across development, testing, and production.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot database performance, ensuring system optimization and high availability.
  • Translate complex technical requirements into business-friendly language for end users and management.
  • Maintain documentation for data standards, policies, and definitions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure secure and reliable data architecture.
  • Enforce user access controls and monitor security and audit processes per organizational standards.
  • Conduct capacity planning and develop disaster recovery strategies.
  • Design and maintain data warehouses and data models to support analytics and reporting.
  • Develop and manage test environments and standardized maintenance schedules.
  • Create data views and support business intelligence tools for reporting and visualization.
  • Apply best practices from both transactional and analytical data environments.
  • Lead project initiatives, mentor junior team members, and manage competing priorities.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in database administration, development, and support.
  • Expertise in relational and non-relational database structures.
  • Proven ability in implementing security, multi-tenant environments, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with both transactional and data warehouse environments.
  • Familiarity with data lifecycle management and structured development processes.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Experience using database tools and integration platforms for reporting and data migration.
  • Desired Skills

  • Experience with OLAP / OLTP systems and modern analytics structures.
  • Familiarity with reporting and integration toolsets.
  • Background in mentoring technical teams and leading database-related projects.

    Pay range : $105k-$150k per year.
