Job Opportunity : Locum Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine
Join a dedicated team at a vital healthcare facility focused on providing Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments. This role is a unique opportunity to serve our nation's Veterans, ensuring they receive the care and assessments they deserve.
Job Responsibilities :
- Conduct one-time non-treatment Compensation and Pension exams and separation health assessments.
- Perform interviews and physical assessments including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
- Available for PRN shifts, with options for half-day (4 hours) and full-day (8 hours) schedules.
- Complete required documentation for examinations and submit reports, including necessary addendums.
- Follow established protocols without prescribing or providing treatments.
- Work closely with Veterans and ensure a dignified and respectful environment.
Qualifications :
Proficient in METs testing and evaluating respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.Effective communication skills for interviewing Veterans.Experience in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine.A strong commitment to serving the Veteran community.License and Certification Requirements :
Active and unrestricted nursing license in South Dakota.Current certification from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).Willingness to complete DMA training to obtain DMA certification.Basic knowledge of and ability to use required technology (e.g., own a laptop, no Mac / Apple products).Houston is a vibrant city known for its rich cultural diversity, a booming job market, and a friendly atmosphere.
