We are working with an Am Law 200 firm seeking an associate with at least two years of commercial litigation experience to join their New York City office.
The ideal candidate will have New York litigation experience and familiarity with the state and federal courts in New York and will have demonstrated experience in all aspects of complex commercial litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions and briefs; taking and defending depositions; attending court conferences and hearings; arguing motions; conducting legal research; preparing and responding to discovery; handling day-to-day case management; and participating in trial preparation. New York judicial clerkship experience is a plus. Experience or interest in fiduciary litigation, particularly in New York State Surrogates Court, is a plus.
Candidates must have excellent legal research, technical, project management, and client service skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; have a demonstrated ability to independently and proactively manage matters, including anticipating client needs and managing deadlines and deliverables with minimal supervision; and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical, business-oriented approach. Admission to practice law in New York is required. Graduation from law school and practice experience is required.
