The Pima County Health Department is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst I to join our Public Health Informatics and Data Services Unit as a Public Health UI / UX Developer. This role focuses on creating meaningful and accessible ways to share public health data, helping to improve transparency and support data-driven decision-making. In this position you'll collaborate closely with teams across the department to design and implement data visualization solutions that inform both internal stakeholders and the community.
In this role, you'll play a key part in building and maintaining tools such as dashboards, hubs, and website pages, while also supporting platforms like SharePoint, Esri, and Qlik. You'll help drive projects from concept to completion - from gathering requirements and designing solutions to testing and implementation - ensuring that complex data is presented clearly and effectively. Your work will not only enhance the department's internal reporting but also promote greater public understanding of health data through transparent communication.
The ideal candidate is a problem-solver with a passion for data storytelling and a strong eye for user experience. You'll stay on top of emerging tools and technologies, advise leadership on strategies for optimizing business intelligence processes, and provide training and guidance to team members. This is an in-office position located in Tucson, AZ, and cannot be remote.

Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, university, or technical trade school with a major in computer science, computer engineering, management information systems (MIS), or a closely related field as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment.

Selection Procedure :
Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum qualifications. All applications will be assessed based on an evaluation of the listed education and experience. Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications may be further evaluated / scored against any advertised Preferred Qualifications. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a referral list provided by Human Resources. Additional assessments / testing may be required as part of the selection process.

Licenses and Certificates : Valid driver license is required at time of application . Valid AZ driver license is required at time of appointment. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review to determine applicant's suitability to operate county vehicles in accordance with Pima County administrative procedures. Failure to obtain and maintain the required licenses and certifications shall be grounds for termination. Any offer of employment resulting from this recruitment is contingent upon Fleet Services' review and approval of the candidate's driving record.
