Neonatologist Locums Job in Louisiana Level III-S NICU Ongoing Coverage Starting in 2026 We re seeking a Board Certified Neonatologist to provide ongoing locum coverage with a collaborative, experienced NICU team in Louisiana. This is an excellent opportunity to join a strong program that continues to grow and expand services for the region. Position Details : Start Date : Early 2026 Coverage Type : Ongoing Locums (flexible schedule available) Facility Type : Level III-S NICU Beds : 45-bed unit with 10 new private NICU rooms opening in 2026 Annual Deliveries : 2,500 Average Census : 40 Team Structure : 6 Neonatologists and 6 NNPs 3 Physicians on days (Monday Thursday), 2 Physicians on days (Friday Sunday) 1 Physician and 1 NNP in-house overnight Shifts : 8 10 hour days or 15 hour nights Support & Resources : Subspecialties Onsite : Pediatric Surgery, ID, Neurology, Orthopedics, Hem / Onc, Genetics, Endocrinology Strong NICU Transport Team supporting regional referrals Participate in Vermont Oxford Network and quality improvement projects No cardiac surgery, ECMO, or major ENT surgery performed onsite Patient Mix : 80% inborn / 20% transferred (mostly from Level I nurseries) Surgical cases supported by in-house pediatric surgeons Collaborative and high-acuity, but balanced environment Jackson and Coker offers : + Weekly Direct Deposit + Top Rated Malpractice Insurance + In-House Travel Agency + 24 / 7 Recruiter Availability + Experienced In-House Privileging Coordinators Experience why Jackson and Coker has been recognized by Forbes and Staffing Industry Analysts for our commitment to service excellence.
