Vacuum Innovations (VI) is an equipment manufacturer for the precision optical coating industry located in Dansville, NY. We design and manufacture thin film deposition systems and equipment, as well as selling coated optics produced using our systems. VI is committed to providing its customers high quality products and creating a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

We are searching for a qualified Machinist to join our growing company. This position is for either a part time Machinist, or full time as a combination of Machinist and Assembly Technician. Were looking for a skilled and self-motivated individual to support VIs manufacturing team. VI is a small company, ideal candidates have a range of existing skills and a willingness to learn new ones. This position offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.

Responsibilities

Use of CNC and manual mills, lathes, measurement tools, and associated equipment, etc.

Assembly support for mechanical devices

Process improvement suggestions

Qualifications

Education : Completion of apprenticeship program and / or college / technical school training program preferred

Experience : At least 4 years of experience as a machinist

Preferred Skills

HURCO experience

Experience using a lathe with live tooling

Prototyping creativity
