Assignment Type : Travel nursing contract Facility : Acute Care Hospital, Level I Trauma Center, Magnet Designation Unit : Operating Room (23 OR suites) Shift : 4x10-hour evening shifts (1 : 00 PM – 10 : 00 PM) Duration : 13-week travel assignment Hours per Week : 40 Weekend Requirement : 1 weekend shift per month On-Call : Yes, typically 1 per week Scrub Color : Provided Charting System : Cerner EMR Parking : Free with permit Estimated Weekly Salary : $2450-$2510 Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 3 years of recent Operating Room RN experience (Level I trauma experience required) Active Illinois RN license (or in application process) BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross) CNOR certification preferred Travel nursing experience required Must reside at least 50 miles from facility Experience with Cerner charting system preferred General OR and trauma nursing experience required Ability to float within skill set if needed Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities Deliver skilled perioperative nursing care for diverse surgical procedures : general, trauma, neurology, orthopedics, plastics, transplant, urology, and emergency management Demonstrate proficiency in case types : laparoscopic, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, mastectomy, thyroidectomy, Whipple, cervical / lumbar fusion, craniotomy, arthroscopy, fracture reduction, microvascular free flap, organ donation, cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, amputations, gunshot / stab wounds, multi-injury trauma Respond to codes and emergencies, ensuring patient safety and adherence to clinical protocols (fire safety, latex allergy, malignant hyperthermia) Utilize and maintain specialized OR equipment (electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, Hana tables) Administer blood products, maintain infection control, radiation safety, specimen handling / labeling, and universal protocol procedures Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and more) Participate in on-call rotation and weekend coverage as scheduled Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EMR Apply now to join our healthcare team in Springfield, Illinois and take the next step in your travel nursing career!
