Underwriter III Non-Delegated Mortgage (Non-Agency Lending)

Location : Remote Texas

What you'll do :

As a Mortgage Underwriter III, you will be responsible for underwriting Non-Agency loansincluding Bank Statement, Jumbo, and DSCR programsby evaluating credit, capacity, and collateral to ensure compliance with company and investor quality standards. You will also review and clear underwriting conditions in accordance with current guidelines and overlays, with a primary focus on non-agency lending products.

Manage daily pipeline by completing Non-Agency and Conventional loans, Underwriting Reviews, Conditions Reviews, and other underwriting tasks within established turn times.

Identify documentation deficiencies and request additional information from clients as needed.

Navigate and interpret Non-Agency and Conventional guidelines, including company-specific overlays.

Collaborate with internal departments to interpret underwriting guidelines, update loan status, and complete assigned tasks.

Communicate directly with clients to provide updates and clarify outstanding conditions or deficiencies.

Respond to client-initiated scenario questions and provide live assistance with loan structuring and solution-based guidance.

What you'll need :

Encompass LOS experience preferred

Project management experience preferred

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)

Loan quality and risk management experience

Excellent customer / client service skills

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment

Self-starter with strong time management and prioritization skills

Adaptability to guideline changes

Familiarity with FNMA and FHLMC guidelines

Proficiency with automated underwriting systems such as Desktop Underwriter and Loan Product Advisor

Compensation : Hourly range for new hires is generally $56.00 for Nevada. Salary amount is determined by specific job location.
