As a Mechatronics QA Engineer at our client location, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our autonomous mechatronic systems through extensive testing and analysis. You will work closely with your team to assess the functionality and performance of mechanical, electrical, and software components in integrated systems. You will help identify and resolve defects, ensuring the product meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and reliability.
Your role
- Collaborate with project teams to understand system requirements and design appropriate test plans and strategies for mechatronic systems.
- Create and maintain comprehensive test cases, procedures, and documentation for hardware, software, and integrated system testing.
- Execute manual and automated tests to ensure the mechatronic systems meet functional, performance, and reliability requirements, including mechanical and electrical components.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues found during testing and work with the project teams to resolve them, including coordination across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.
- Conduct user-acceptance testing for integrated systems, as the mechatronic components and systems are ready for release.
- Participate in scrum meetings and provide quality updates related to hardware and software integration.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to enhance the overall quality and efficiency of our mechatronic products.
- Perform tests in the lab, on prototypes or vehicles, and in field test environments to assess real-world performance.
- Develop testing protocols for different stages of product development and ensure proper validation before production or deployment.
Your skills and experience
1-3 years of QA testing experience, or other related experience in mechatronics, robotics, or engineering.A degree or coursework in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.Strong understanding of testing methodologies for integrated mechanical, electrical, and software systems.Proficiency in test case management tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or similar.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in identifying and troubleshooting issues across multiple engineering disciplines.Excellent written and verbal communication skills to document findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams.Experience in both individual and collaborative work environments.Familiarity with Agile development processes and project management techniques is preferred.Willingness and eagerness to learn new tools, technologies, and systems related to mechatronics and embedded systems testing.0-15% travel for testing in lab and field environments as needed.Life at Capgemini
