Position :   Phlebotomist

Location :   Claremore, OK 74017

Duration :   13-week contract with Possible extension

Pay :   $28 / hr. (stipends applicable for travelers traveling more than 50 miles from the facility location)

Schedule :   8 AM - 04 : 30 PM | M-F | 40 hours weekly

Overview :   Seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to provide patient care by collecting specimens, preparing them for laboratory testing, and ensuring accurate documentation within Cerner. This role involves working with infants, pediatric, adult, and elderly patients in a professional healthcare setting.

Duties and Responsibilities

Collect and prepare laboratory samples from patients of all ages.

Perform routine laboratory testing and ensure accurate specimen handling.

Identify and utilize the best method for retrieving specimens.

Maintain proper documentation and charting in Cerner.

Assist with clerical duties such as filing, typing, and report preparation.

Submit and receive specimens and reports from laboratories as required.

Clean and maintain the work area, and ensure that laboratory supplies are properly stocked.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience is required

Certification : ASCP, AMT, or equivalent board required

AHA BLS certification required or be able to obtain it post-offer

Experience with Cerner charting required

Previous experience handling, labeling, and processing blood specimens for transfusion or blood bank testing is required

Experience in collecting newborn screening specimens is preferred
