Production Supervisor I
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Production Supervisor to lead a team responsible for the hand assembly of high-end sensors. The ideal candidate will oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring quality, efficiency, and adherence to safety standards while meeting production goals. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who excels in a high-precision manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Safety and Compliance :
Ensure all team members adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace. Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and company policies, ensuring full compliance.
Team Leadership :
Supervise, train, and mentor a team of assembly technicians performing intricate hand assembly processes. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes collaboration and accountability.
Production Management :
Plan, organize, and manage daily production activities to meet delivery schedules and quality standards. Monitor workflows to identify and resolve bottlenecks or inefficiencies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality Assurance and Engineering, to ensure seamless operations. Create and supervise recovery plans for and gaps in commitments.
Quality Assurance :
Maintain high standards of craftsmanship and attention to detail in all assembly operations. Conduct regular inspections to ensure products meet specifications and customer expectations.
Process Improvement :
Implement and sustain lean manufacturing practices to optimize productivity and minimize waste. Identify opportunities for process enhancements and work with engineering teams to refine assembly methods.
What Your Background Should Look Like :
Proven experience (3+ years) as a supervisor or lead in a manufacturing or assembly environment, preferably involving high-precision or high-end products.
Strong understanding of hand assembly techniques and processes, including soldering, small part assembly, or other fine motor skill applications.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, 5S practices, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with ERP / MRP systems preferably SAP.
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or education is a plus.
Work Environment :
Fast-paced, hands-on production floor requiring attention to detail and precision.
May involve prolonged standing and working with small components under magnification.
