We’re seeking an experienced, forward-thinking Director of Outpatient Psychiatric Services to guide our outpatient medication management clinic and lead a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and nursing professionals.

Salary : Starting at $80,000 per year

As the Director of Outpatient Psychiatric Services, you’ll oversee all aspects of DLC’s psychiatric medication clinic—ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and a culture of compassionate care. You’ll lead clinical staff and spearhead innovative treatment initiatives that advance DLC’s mission to restore and rebuild lives.

Leadership & Operations

  • Oversee daily psychiatric clinic operations, staffing, scheduling, and patient flow.
  • Supervise psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff with a focus on mentorship and accountability.
  • Ensure safe, evidence-based prescribing and medication monitoring practices.
  • Collaborate with medical and administrative leaders to streamline workflows and optimize performance.
  • Drive engagement, morale, and professional growth across your team.

Clinical Excellence & Innovation

  • Champion new service lines, including Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and upcoming TMS therapy.
  • Promote a culture of clinical quality, ethical practice, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain alignment with Joint Commission, state, and federal standards.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and utilize data-driven decision-making to enhance outcomes.
  • Support crisis response and emergency preparedness efforts as needed.
  • Administrative & Fiscal Stewardship

  • Manage budgets, billing processes, and resource utilization with fiscal responsibility.
  • Conduct recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations for team members.
  • Oversee quality assurance, peer review, and audit participation.
  • Ensure all documentation, policies, and procedures meet DLC’s standards of excellence.
  • Position Requirements : You are both strategist and servant leader—able to see the big picture while never losing sight of the individuals behind the numbers.

  • Master’s degree in healthcare administration, behavioral health, or a related field (Bachelor’s with equivalent experience considered).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in psychiatric or behavioral health settings.
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare or clinical environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and operational growth.
  • Strong fiscal management, compliance, and performance improvement skills.
  • Working knowledge of psychiatric medications, outpatient workflows, and innovative treatment models.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Teams, and Electronic Medical Records.
  • Commitment to ethical, patient-centered behavioral healthcare and DLC’s mission.
  • Ability to meet Level II DCF background and health compliance requirements.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

    Physical Requirements : This position requires a mix of physical activities throughout the workday. Duties involve periods of standing, sitting, and walking, often across various areas of the site. The role also includes tasks that may require bending, reaching, and other physical movements. Candidates must be able to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. A reasonable level of physical stamina and mobility is necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
