Job Title : Supplier Development Engineer 3
Location : Mossville, Illinois
Pay Rate : $50 - 55
Job Type : Contract – 24 months
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience (internships not counted).
- Exposure to manufacturing environments involving complex engineered components.
- Expertise in Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) elements and submissions.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing standards, procedures, and policies.
- Skills in supplier evaluation and certification using defined methods and criteria.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong problem-solving abilities using diagnostic tools and structured approaches.
- Commitment to quality orientation and continuous process improvement.
- Willingness to perform tactical, day-to-day work and project tasks.
Responsibilities :
Ensure the quality of supplies by conducting tests and assessments on incoming materials.Develop supplier inspection, testing, and evaluation mechanisms.Generate reports on supplier quality performance and defect rates.Guide suppliers to reduce defects and improve quality performance.Research and assess potential vendors, reviewing manufacturing environments and procedures.Conduct supplier quality control audits to ensure compliance with organizational and federal standards.Support suppliers in improving performance through process enhancements and quality assurance plans.Identify capability gaps in supplier processes and implement corrective actions.Monitor supplier performance to meet quality, cost, and delivery standards.Participate in supplier certification and evaluation processes.Collaborate with internal teams including Category Managers, Buyers, and Procurement Professionals.Work both independently and as part of a team of six (3 SDEs, 2 Buyers, 1 Procurement Professional).Visit supplier manufacturing floors as needed to assess and support production quality.
