Business Development & Event Engagement Specialist

A local consulting company seeks an experienced, part-time Business Development & Event Engagement Specialist to support upcoming client engagement activities associated with a major professional event in the Washington, DC area in early 2026.

Hours / Schedule : Approximately 20 hours / week in December and February with full-time hours prior to and during the week of the event

Job Type : 3 month project (December 1, 2025 – February 28, 2026)

Location Requirements : Hybrid, 1-2 days / week at client office in NoVA. Ability to be on-site in DC during the event.

Rate : $55-65 / hour based on experience

Job Description :

Business Development & Event Engagement Specialist will assist the company leadership in preparing for and supporting targeted networking and client outreach activities associated with an upcoming industry event. Responsibilities include :

• Coordinating outreach and scheduling meetings with identified contacts in advance of the event.
• Managing meeting logistics and assisting with introductions during the event.
• Preparing daily summaries and providing post-event follow-up support.

Qualifications :

• 10+ years of successful experience in business development, client relations, or sales.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to confidently engage new contacts and build relationships.
• Analytical and organizational skills to capture and summarize meeting insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
