About The Position

Job Title : Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Profession : RN

Shift : Variable shifts

Hours per Shift : 36 hours per week

Experience : Minimum of two years in Emergency or Critical Care Nursing

License : Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice

Certifications : ACLS, TNCC, PALS or ENPC, BLS AHA

Must-Have :

• Minimum of two years of experience in Emergency or Critical Care Nursing
• Proficient in EPIC charting

Description :

Demonstrated proficiency in Emergency Care nursing knowledge and skills.

Provides an accurate, holistic assessment on assigned patients to determine appropriate health care needs.

Establishes patient care priorities based on needs of patients of all ages.

Utilizes assessment data to develop and maintain a holistic, ongoing nursing plan of care.

Administers therapeutic measures consistent with professional standards in a safe, timely, and effective manner.

Carries out appropriate nursing interventions.

Interprets patient and diagnostic data on an ongoing basis to determine appropriate nursing actions.

Establishes a work environment that facilitates the accomplishment of patient care goals in an organized manner.

All job functions and communications are carried out in a cooperative manner encouraging a team spirit.

Experience with equipment such as IV pumps, defibrillators, and EMR systems.

Ability to manage rapid responses, code blue situations, and various medical emergencies.

Management of neurological, respiratory, cardiac, and diabetic emergencies.

Interpretation of laboratory values and knowledge of restraints and blood product administration.

The employee will not work alone and will be required to work weekends as part of the rotation.

Nurse to patient ratio is variable with an average of three nurses staffed for 24 hours and a fourth nurse for 12 hours.

Dress code is scrubs.

An initial competency assessment will be completed by the supervisor.
