LOCATION : Phoenix Kroc Center

STATUS : Full time / Non-Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Must be able to obtain American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor CPR / AED & First aid instructor, and Water Safety Instructor.
• Must have a minimum of a year or more experience as a certified lifeguard.
• Meet and deal tactfully and effectively with the public; work cooperatively with others; analyze situations and adopt a quick and effective course of action.
• Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Meet all health & safety regulations as defined by the Health Department & The Salvation Army.
• Split shifts schedule may be required to meet the needs of the center.
• Have the ability to work with all members including but not limited to :

Relate joyfully and sensitively to children of all ages.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms on a continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push and pull objects, and reach overhead. Must have the ability to swim with proficiency and endurance. Must successfully complete a 500-yard swim and retrieve a 10-pound brick from the bottom of the pool. The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 40 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and / or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
