Technical Director - Product Management, Core Platforms Engineering

Business Unit :

Store Support Centre (SSC)

Description & Requirements

who we are

lululemon is an innovative performance apparel company for yoga, running, training, and other athletic pursuits. Setting the bar in technical fabrics and functional design, we create transformational products and experiences that support people in moving, growing, connecting, and being well. We owe our success to our innovative product, emphasis on stores, commitment to our people, and the incredible connections we make in every community we're in. As a company, we focus on creating positive change to build a healthier, thriving future. In particular, that includes creating an equitable, inclusive and growth-focused environment for our people.

about this team

At lululemon, we are committed to delivering seamless and transformative experiences that empower our customers and technologists alike. We strive to create frictionless, innovative solutions that meet the demands of a dynamic and evolving technological world. Our mission is to inspire progress, drive meaningful connections, and enhance both performance and well-being through thoughtfully crafted engineering platforms and unwavering dedication to our community's needs.

Our Technology Foundations team powers the engineering platforms that enable innovation across our global tech ecosystem. From cloud infrastructure and CI / CD pipelines to data platforms and developer experience, we build the backbone that supports every digital experience.

We’re looking for a strategic and outcome-driven Technology Director - Product Management to lead our Core Platforms Engineering portfolio. This role will play a pivotal role in scaling our technology platforms to support lululemon’s transformation from a $10B to $20B global business. It will shape the vision, roadmap, and execution of foundational technologies that drive scale, resilience, and velocity across lululemon’s tech landscape.

core responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

Define and champion the product vision and multi-year roadmap for core engineering platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, Kafka, Cloud Foundations, Secrets Management, APIM, CI / CD).

Align platform strategy with enterprise goals—cost optimization, frictionless developer experience, service continuity, and regulatory compliance.

Build compelling business cases and define ROI for platform investments that support enterprise-wide initiatives.

Execution & Delivery

Own the product strategy for modern engineering platforms including Kubernetes, data / ML platforms, data streaming, CI / CD, cloud-native infrastructure, and infrastructure management.

Approve high-level requirements, KPIs, and prioritization frameworks to guide product development and delivery.

Make data-informed decisions using customer feedback, analytics, benchmarks, and emerging technology trends.

Partner with engineering, architecture, and operations teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing platform capabilities.

Team & Stakeholder Management

Lead and mentor a globally distributed team of product managers, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure roadmap alignment and delivery excellence.

Collaborate with business product teams to define operating models and ways of working that scale across the enterprise.

Act as the voice of internal customers, ensuring platform features meet evolving business and technology needs.

Monitor industry trends and competitive benchmarks to inform platform strategy and roadmap evolution.

Drive change management and communication strategies to support adoption, business continuity, and stakeholder engagement.

qualifications

10+ years of technology product management experience for platform engineering or infrastructure technologies. Up to 5 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of product management experience.

Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate business needs into technical outcomes. Collaboration across multiple disciplines (digital to supply chain to FP&A)

Passion for developer experience, platform scalability, and operational excellence.

7+ years of leadership experience and ability to lead through direct reports (3-4), dotted line relationships and cross functional collaboration

Proven track record of leading and delivering complex, enterprise-scale initiatives in an agile environment.

Experience with cloud technologies, engineering platforms, or software development lifecycle

Strong core consulting skills (demonstrated track record of quality delivery, interpersonal and cross-functional relationship skills)

Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering executive level presentations

Ability to drive results independently, but thrives in collaborative environments

Has a deep desire to learn and improve by seeking, accepting and acting on productive feedback

Demonstrated leadership; mentorship, visionary, clarity of purpose, motivated, relentless execution

Minimum BA / BS degree from a four-year accredited university (advanced degree preferred)

must haves

Acknowledge the presence of choice in every moment and take personal responsibility for your life.

Possess an entrepreneurial spirit and continuously innovate to achieve great results.

Communicate with honesty and kindness and create the space for others to do the same.

Lead with courage, knowing the possibility of greatness is bigger than the fear of failure.

Foster connection by putting people first and building trusting relationships.

Integrate fun and joy as a way of being and working, aka doesn’t take yourself too seriously.

additional notes

Authorization to work in the United States is required for this role.
