Senior Project Engineer - Erlanger, KY
Schedule : Monday – Friday, 8 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM
Contract Type : 6-Month Direct Hire Contract
Compensation : $110,000 – $150,000 (based on experience )
Job Summary :
A leading U.S. manufacturer is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to oversee and deliver capital and process engineering projects within a fast-paced production environment. This role is ideal for a technically driven professional who can balance hands-on project execution with strong planning, coordination, and communication skills.
You’ll take ownership of complex engineering initiatives — from equipment installations to process improvements — while working cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and safety teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities :
Direct and coordinate all phases of engineering projects, from concept and design through installation and startup.
Develop layouts, equipment specifications, quotations, and capital authorization requests.
Manage project budgets, expense tracking, and vendor relationships.
Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant equipment modifications or installations.
Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawings.
Incorporate process improvements and visual aids that enhance production efficiency.
Prepare detailed project documentation and present progress or completion of reports to the leadership.
Research and recommend new technologies to improve quality, cost, and process reliability.
Key Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME ) or related engineering field.
5+ years of project engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in computer-based design, analysis, and project management tools.
Excellent communication skills for working with cross-functional teams and external contractors.
Ability to maneuver throughout a plant environment as needed.
Flexibility to work occasional weekends as projects require.
