TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor / Delivery RN in Nampa, Idaho, 83687!

About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Profession : Nursing

Specialty : Women's Services, Labor and Delivery

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 12-Hour Nights

Hours per Shift : 36 hours per week

Experience : Minimum of 1 year of experience required

License : Current Nursing License

Certifications : BLS

ACLS

NRP

STABLE

Must-Have :

3 years of Labor and Delivery experience preferred

Mother-baby experience preferred

Experience in attending deliveries and completing newborn care required

Ability to triage, circulate C-sections, and provide postpartum couplet care

Description :

The unit provides care for a diverse population of patients with various needs.

RNs will circulate in the operating room for C-sections and recover patients post-operation.

The unit includes LDRP beds where patients stay in the same room after delivery.

There are Triage beds specifically for assessing incoming patients.

The average number of births is around 90 per month.

Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines, with a labor ratio of 1 : 1 for most patients.

Postpartum care is typically a 1 : 3 ratio for couplet care.

Triage support is available with a resource nurse for additional coverage.

Charge nurses do not take patient assignments and support unit operations.

Certified surgical techs and nursing assistants provide additional support on the unit.

An OB hospitalist and neonatal nurse practitioner are available on-site 24 / 7.

There is also anesthesia coverage available around the clock.

RNs are expected to have the ability to titrate drips, including Pitocin and magnesium protocols.

The telemetry capability is present, but telemetry technicians are not utilized on the unit.

Shifts may include floating to various locations within assigned skill sets.

Self-scheduling options may be available, but block scheduling is not guaranteed.

There are no set requirements regarding holiday and weekend shifts for travelers.

The unit has a policy regarding nail care for staff.

All scrub attire is provided and is required to be changed at the beginning and end of each shift.

Traveling nurses may need to use two cars due to the potential for floating between sites.
