Health and Safety Manager\nSouth West\nUp to £50k + Benefits\nThe Opportunity\nA well-established groundwork contractor is seeking a dedicated Health & Safety professional to join their team, supporting major infrastructure projects across the South West and South Wales. Based in Gloucester, this role involves maintaining exceptional safety standards across multiple active sites - from Gloucester to Somerset, Swindon, and Cardiff.\nThere is opportunity to advance in this position.\nKey Responsibilities\n
- Manage all aspects of health, safety, and environmental compliance on groundwork projects.\n
- Partner with main contractors and project teams to ensure adherence to HSE regulations.\n
- Carry out site inspections, audits, and accident / incident investigations.\n
- Lead the creation and delivery of risk assessments, method statements, and safety management plans.\n
- Foster a strong safety culture through training, mentoring, and on-site guidance.\n
- Present safety performance reports and improvement strategies to senior leadership.\n
- Work alongside and be mentored by the Head of Health & Safety, preparing for succession into that role.\nAbout You\n
- Proven track record as a Senior HSE Advisor / Health & Safety Manager in groundwork, civil engineering, or construction environments.\n
- Excellent understanding of CDM regulations, HSE standards, and industry best practice.\n
- Skilled at communicating and building relationships with contractors and clients.\n
- Qualified with NEBOSH or IOSH (or equivalent certification).\n
- Confident, approachable, and capable of positively influencing teams on site.\nWhat's on Offer\n
