Job description

Inventory Manager

Seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory Manager to oversee inventory operations across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting (CPA preferred), hands-on experience in inventory management, and a willingness to work in both office settings and outdoor environments. This role involves regular travel (bi-weekly) to multiple locations, including overnight stays, and is crucial to maintaining accurate, real-time inventory data, supporting automation initiatives, and serving as a liaison for customer-owned inventory stored on-site. Key Responsibilities :

  • Oversee and manage physical inventory.
  • Conduct regular (bi-weekly) site visits; travel required, including some overnight stays.
  • Ensure accurate and timely inventory reporting and reconciliation.
  • Work with operations teams to implement barcode-based inventory tracking systems.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of automated inventory and manufacturing systems.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers with inventory stored.
  • Collaborate with production and sales teams to forecast inventory needs and manage stock levels.
  • Monitor inventory control procedures and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
  • Analyze inventory data and generate reports for management and finance teams.
  • Provide input into process improvements related to supply chain and warehouse management.
  • Assist in inventory valuation and reporting for financial statements.

Requirements :

  • Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Experience :
  • 3+ years in inventory management or accounting, in a timber / sawmill / lumber / forestry manufacturing type environment.
  • Experience with barcode-based inventory tracking systems.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing automation and inventory software.
  • Skills :
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in Excel and ERP / accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Acumatica).
  • Comfortable working in both office and outdoor environments.
  • Other :
  • Ability and willingness to travel bi-weekly to sites, with occasional overnight stays.
  • Physically able to navigate active plant type environments and work in varying weather conditions.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Previous involvement in implementing or upgrading inventory or manufacturing automation systems.
