Respondology is seeking a forward-thinking Vice President of Engineering to lead the next chapter of our technical evolution. This is a rare opportunity to help scale a high-impact platform from a solid foundationowning the architecture, growing the team, and shaping what's next alongside an experienced leadership bench. This role is ideal for a hands-on, entrepreneurial engineering leader looking to eventually grow into a CTO role.
As VP of Engineering, youll oversee day-to-day execution across engineering while contributing to longer-term technical vision and roadmap in partnership with product and executive leadership. Youll bring structure, velocity, and strong technical instincts to a small but mighty team thats ready to scale.

What Youll Do
- Scale engineering team to support products growing between 50-100% annually, including managing engineers and helping hire new talent.
- Partner with the Chief Product Officer to shape and deliver the product roadmap
- Own technical execution across backend, frontend, DevOps, and machine learning
- Contribute hands-on to system architecture, infrastructure decisions, and technical reviews as needed
- Integrate emerging technologies (including LLMs, multi-agent orchestration frameworks, embeddings, vector databases, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation)
- Foster a culture of engineering excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Implement scalable processes for project management, quality, and delivery
- Help guide the longer-term technical vision and serve as a bridge to the product, sales, and design teams
- Contribute to engineering hiring strategy, mentorship, and leadership development
What You Bring
8+ years of experience in software engineering roles, with 3+ years in engineering leadershipExperience leading teams in a B2B SaaS environment; startup experience preferredStrong people management skillsyouve built and scaled teams, and developed other leadersA balance of strategic thinking and hands-on technical depthFamiliarity with our core stack : Ruby on Rails, Python, React, Postgres, AWS, OpenSearch / ElasticSearchExperience working with or integrating AI / ML (bonus for GenAI / NLP experience)High EQ and communication skillsyou can build bridges across functionsAppetite to grow into a CTO-level leader over timeBonus Points For :
