About the Role :
We are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Surgery Scheduler to join our growing administrative team. This role goes beyond basic scheduling—our ideal candidate brings hands-on surgery coordination experience , understands the nuances of insurance processes, and thrives in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
You'll be the key liaison between patients, surgeons, and insurance providers—ensuring a seamless, supportive experience from pre-op to post-op.
Key Responsibilities :
- Schedule and coordinate surgical procedures, including confirming details (date, time, location) and sharing pre-op / post-op instructions.
- Engage with patients directly—often in the exam room—to schedule surgeries or initiate insurance authorization processes.
- Manage insurance pre-authorizations and appeals when necessary.
- Clearly communicate financial responsibilities, surgical timelines, and preparation requirements to patients.
- Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, and insurance coordinators to secure all required documentation.
- Maintain accurate patient records in the EMR (we use ECW).
- Proactively update patients on any scheduling changes or insurance status.
- Deliver exceptional service while ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times.
