Behavioral Health Billing Specialist

About the Role

We are hiring a high-performing Behavioral Health and Substance Use Disorder Biller with extensive, hands-on expertise in CollaborateMD and KIPU. This is a revenue-impact position for someone who understands clean claim strategy, authorization alignment, denial prevention, and aggressive AR management.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently bill multiple facilities for Behavioral Health and Substance Use Disorder claims to commercial, Medicare, and managed care payers
• Aggressively manage aging reports and reduce AR days
• Identify denial patterns and implement corrective action plans
• Ensure billing aligns with authorizations and level of care

Required Expertise: CollaborateMD

• Advanced claim scrubbing and error resolution
• Custom report generation and AR tracking

Required Expertise: KIPU

• Strong understanding of clinical documentation flow
• Ensure documentation supports medical necessity
• Cross-reference KIPU data with billing system accuracy

Qualifications

• 2+ years behavioral health billing experience (substance use & mental health required)
• Extensive working knowledge of CollaborateMD and KIPU
• Proven ability to reduce AR days and improve clean claim rate
• Strong payer follow-up and denial management skills
• High attention to detail and accountability for outcomes
• Ability to work independently in a performance-driven environment
