The AP Team Lead oversees the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and expense reimbursements. This role provides leadership and guidance to the AP team, drives process improvements, and ensures compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Accounts Payable Team Lead
Your main responsibilities will be :
- Supervise, train, and mentor accounts payable staff.
- Assign and review work to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Monitor team performance and provide regular feedback and performance evaluations.
- Oversee the end-to-end AP process, including invoice receipt, approval, coding, and payment.
- Ensure all payments are made accurately, on time, and in accordance with company policy and vendor terms.
- Review and approve payment runs, reconciliations, and adjustments.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and resolve payment or invoice discrepancies promptly.
- Ensure vendor records are accurate and up to date.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the AP function.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and audit requirements.
- Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation and explanations.
- Prepare regular AP reports, including aging analysis, payment forecasts, and KPIs.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities related to accounts payable.
- Work closely with procurement, finance, and other departments to ensure accurate and timely processing.
- Support cross-functional projects and finance transformation initiatives.
Job Requirements :
Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)4-6 years of experience in accounts payable or finance, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or team lead roleProficiency in ERP / accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)Strong Microsoft Excel skillsKnowledge of accounting principles and AP best practicesExcellent leadership and communication skillsStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilitiesHigh attention to detail and accuracyExperience in a shared services or multinational environmentExposure to process automation tools (e.g., OCR, RPA)Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, or equivalent) is a plusWe offer :
